Greece — the Land that Gave Me Freedom, Eleftheria
When following the heart feels like hell — and why it’s still worth walking.
It’s been a while since my last post. Most of my energy has gone into finishing my book and moving through deep inner shifts after my soulmate’s passing. But today I want to share the story of what Greece has truly given me: a journey that felt like hell — and yet led me to freedom.
🌪️ The Storm I Didn’t Expect
When I followed my soul’s calling and moved from Finland to Greece, I thought my life would finally begin to settle after years of turmoil. I imagined that when you follow your soul, the puzzle pieces would fall into place and the path would open with ease.
But that’s not what happened.
Instead, a big storm — one that would strip everything bare — was waiting for me just around the corner.
The moment I touched the ground at the airport, Greece became both my hell and my healer.
Within two years I faced more than I thought I could bear:
- old traumas resurfacing
- a sudden surgery
- the worst stomach bug I’ve ever had
- loneliness sharp enough to break me
- apartment nightmares
- and the loss of my soulmate Jannis
I found myself learning more from hospitals and funerals than from weddings and parties — and yet, even in those places of sorrow, life was shaping me toward freedom. Through grief, pain, and countless tests life threw at me, something sacred was unfolding: I was being set free.

🔥 Through Fire, Toward Freedom
I learned that Eleftheria — the Greek word for freedom — doesn’t just mean the ability to change countries or circumstances. Its deeper meaning is the freedom of the heart.
The freedom to live aligned with truth. To follow what expands you. To be where your soul feels alive. To be fully you.
But sometimes a journey toward freedom is messy, painful, and feels like hell.
Not calm, but chaos.
Not instant bliss, but hurricanes that strip you bare.
You may feel like everything you once built is being burned to ashes — and in a way, it is.
But not to end you. To refine you.
To turn you into something stronger and freer than before.
Because through this process that first took every bit of my energy, I also found something I never had before: my strength, my confidence, my purpose, and a clearer connection to the guidance of my soul.
The storms burned away illusions.
They broke me open to immense love through deep grief, and to truths I never could have reached in my old life.
Greece stripped me down — but in that rawness, I remembered who I really am:
Strong.
Magic.
Wild.
Real.
Alive.
🌿 Eleftheria — The Freedom to Be Fully Yourself
This is the deeper gift of awakening. Not only stronger inner peace, but freedom — born from what you thought you could never rise from.
So if you are in the middle of your own storm, please don’t give up.
I know it can feel like hell.
I know it can feel like you are losing everything.
When you embark on a journey of inner growth, the road can sometimes take you to the extremes.
But remember:
- You are not being destroyed.
- You are being reshaped.
- Transformed.
- Reborn.
When the flames finally quiet, something freer, truer, and more luminous will rise from the ruins.
That something is you.
And that is Eleftheria — the freedom to be fully, finally, yourself.
Trust your soul’s calling, even when the road feels unbearable. Because once the inner work is done, the outer world begins to shift too — what is within, is without.
✨ A New Threshold
As for me… during the past few months, I reached the point where I started to hate the saying “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” — until I realized it still holds true.
Now I feel I am standing once again at the threshold of something new, rising with lighter steps, a freer heart, and the wind of possibility at my back. 🌿
